The ASA Supercharger T1

The development of our first compressor was completed in 1995. Since then, this mechanically driven radial compressor has become ASA’s flagship. Its special technology is continuously optimized and has proven itself many times over. As of 2022, we have delivered over 15,000 ASA compressors.

Its unique selling points worldwide include its compact gearbox (i=1:15) with the high-speed roller-bearing compressor unit. This results in high power density and high efficiency. The latter is essentially guaranteed by the use of a virtually friction-free, contact-free seal between the gearbox and compressor environment and the consistent use of roller bearings for all rotating components. We would like to once again highlight the roller-bearing compressor unit, which runs at speeds of up to 130,000 rpm.

As a rule, the ASA T1 compressor is supplied with lubricating oil from the combustion engine via a bypass circuit. Due to its function, there is no oil leckage into the compressed air.

The compressor housing can be rotated 360 degrees freely around its axis of rotation to the compressor unit.

The large gear ratio (i=1:15) allows the use of large pulleys to transmit high drive torques and prevent belt slip.

Our HD variants are equipped with hybrid roller bearings in the compressor unit. The rolling elements used here are no longer made of metal, but of ceramic material. Various other components have selected, tighter tolerances.

In addition to its ASA standard design, the external geometry, gear housing with its mounting points, and the compressor side have been adapted to customer requirements in many projects (e.g., BMW Alpina B5, B6, B7, BMW North America BMW 7 Series, Iveco, Caterpillar, various Formula 1 & university research applications, etc.).
